Child & Adolescent Liaison (CALS) & Regional Youth Forensic Service (RYFS) - Residential Care
 
We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse to fill this Residential Care Focus Role. If you are interested in working with at risk young people, with a focus on children & adolescents in secure residential care, then this could be the role for you. This exciting new role will also give you the variety you are looking for; both in residential care and in the community.
 
CALS / RYFS is a regionally focussed multidisciplinary team whose primary role is to provide mental health assessments for children and adolescents involved in either the CYFS or Youth Justice systems, the provision of advice on their ongoing therapeutic and systemic needs, preparing formal reports on their needs, and providing therapeutic interventions in some cases.
 
A full time position has become available working with children and adolescents at Korowai Manaaki Youth Justice Residence for 2-3 days per week and the remainder of the time working with the main CALS / RYFS team seeing young people in the community (making up a full time position).This position does not require any shift or weekend work.
 
CALS / RYFS is based in Greenlane, and company cars will be available for travel between Greenlane and the Korowai Manaaki in South Auckland, so a full clean NZ drivers licence is essential.
 
You will be required to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, formulate relevant treatment plans for children and adolescents, provide evidence based treatments, write formal reports & clinical notes to a high standard, and liaise effectively with residential staff and other agencies including health, education, CYF, and the NGO sector.
