Company and Position Description
Our West Edmonton based client is seeking an IT Specialist/Network Analyst to maintain, support, and optimize key infrastructure areas, including workstations, networks, servers, databases, security, and data communications. Specifically your responsibilities will include:
Analyze and make recommendations on infrastructure such as networks, servers, databases, network security, and data communications.
Design, develop, document and implement a Disaster Recovery Plan.
Support and maintain Windows servers.
Develop and implement database and application data backups.
Support and maintain LAN/WAN networks.
Test and optimize server and network performance.
Manage Operating System and Software licensing requirements.
Set-up, configure and monitor hardware.
Operating system and software installation and configurations.
Provide end user desktop support.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and technical qualification:
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer technology and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of Windows networks.
Experience with Active Directory, MS Exchange, VMware.
Understanding of network security.
Experience using Solaris is desirable.
Experience using with Content Management System is an asset.

The successful candidate will require excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. They will also require superior analytical and problem solving skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
