Principal / Senior Medical Information Officer
My client is a global Pharmaceutical company who are urgently seeking a Senior Medical Information Officer to join their team on a 12 month freelance contract. This position is based in Buckinghamshire and will involve the provision of Medical Information and Compliance support to the company.
Role
The successful candidate will have two main areas of responsibility. Medical Information and Regulatory Compliance. Medical Information responsibilities will include the provision of a high level Med Info service to internal and external customers, handling and forwarding adverse event reports, and managing technical complaints. Regulatory Compliance responsibilities will include reviewing promotional copy in accordance with UK/Ireland and EMEA Codes and SOP's
Duties and Responsibilities
*Answer enquiries from internal and external customers, ensuring that these are handled in a competent and timely manner, and that appropriate responses (written or verbal) are provided.
*Respond to medical and technical complaints in an appropriate and timely manner according to SOPs.
*Log enquiries onto the Medical Information database (MedInfoSys).
*Carry out literature searches using both internal and external literature databases.
*Ensure standard letters, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and standard literature searches are regularly reviewed, updated as necessary, or generated as required.
*Provide therapy area lead and expert knowledge. Maintain awareness of key product and therapy area literature.
*Undertake promotional copy approval of materials and activities in accordance with ABPI/IPHA Codes of Practice.

*Provide support to sales and marketing including support for brand teams and launch teams, as required.
Essential Criteria
*Degree level preferably in pharmacy, or biological, pharmaceutical or life science.
*UK registered pharmacist ideal but not essential.
*1+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a Medical Information/Scientific Advisor/ Healthcare Compliance role (or similar).
