The role:
Define product layout and assembly definition, design mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks / ProEngineer 3D modeling.
Review concept testing results and access manufacturability of new product.
Design sophisticated fixture and calibration process for high precision mechanical assemblies.
Technical team leader - Provide solution for engineering problems and take initiatives to lead and plan problem solving activities.
Create and maintain engineering documents required for project planning and product development gate approval review.
Control product BOM cost and related design schedule, from mechanical engineering perspective.
Prepare mechanical engineering documents required for project planning and gate approval, such as BOM, component specifications and technical reports, and support FMEA activities.
Review engineering design and drawing to maintain professional drafting standard.
Analyze, verify mechanical design and solve technical problems using scientific approaches, such as mathematics, physics, prototyping, tolerance analysis, CAE, FEM, simulations, DOE, etc.
Lead and mentor junior mechanical engineers.
Be mechanical engineering representative, together with other team members, responsible for product development cycle, competitive costs and quality.
Support cost reduction and continuous improvements of product and process.
Track and control tooling fabrication process.
Design calibration jig and fixture for engineering verification.
Support product compliance certification activities.
Candidates with less experience can be considered for the post of Mechanical Engineer.

Requirement:
University degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronic Engineering or Applied Science.
Good understanding in mechanical design using CAD solid modeling. Knowledge in optics would be an advantage.
Innovative – Track record in successfully developing and applying new technologies in product design. Able to generate new concepts and develop prototypes for concept proof and selection.
Analytical Analytical – Track record in solving tough technical problems. Knowledge in analysis tool such as FEM, MATLAB, FMEA and tolerance stack-up, etc.
Knowledge in material properties and selection, and manufacturing processes.
Familiar with requirements of product development gate approval review and experience in project management.
Good knowledge in design drafting and preferably geometric tolerance.

suppliers, certification agency, engineering design consultants
