Our client is a recognised NZ brand name organisation who are currently bringing their IT infrastructure services in-house.

To assist them with this, they are looking to recruit a senior systems engineer who can work with them through the transition process. The role will involve the management, performance and capacity of the IT infrastructure and applications, delivering a high quality service to the business.

Responsibilities will incorporate providing level 3 desktop support, server and network monitoring/administration, resrearching new technologies and making recommendations for future optimisation of technology and process.

You will be involved in project roll outs and work closely with business users to provide an excellent level of customer service, as well as liaise with 3rd parties to escalate issues for resolution.

To be successful in this role, you will be MCSE certified and have 5+ years experience in a similar role, within enterprise level Microsoft environments.

You will have demonstrable strengths in the following:
Windows server management
VMWare, Veritas Netbackup, ISA, McAfee, SCCM
Networking - LAN/WAN/Internet, Exchange
SAN management - squid proxy and IBM blades

Experience in Windows 7 rollouts and/or WIN 2008 server would be advantageous, but not essential, as would an understanding of the ITIL service delivery framework.
